treatable concerns

Soft, flesh-coloured growths that often appear on the neck, underarms, or eyelids. While harmless, they can become irritated by clothing or jewellery.

Waxy, raised lesions that range in colour from light brown to black. Common with age, they may resemble warts but are completely benign.

Bright red, dome-shaped bumps made up of small blood vessels. These are common on the trunk and can increase with age.

Raised or flat pigmented spots that are typically harmless but may cause cosmetic concern, especially on the face or high-friction areas.

Tiny white or yellowish cysts that appear under the skin, often around the eyes or cheeks. They form when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before undertaking cosmetic removal we must rule out skin cancer. Dr Tarek holds an ACD Certificate of Practical Dermoscopy and will examine your lesion with a dermoscope to exclude any suspicious features. If required, a biopsy will be discussed. Patient safety is our priority and we recommend regular skin‑cancer checks with your GP or a dermatologist.

Following your treatment:

1. Keep the Area Clean and Dry

Gently cleanse the treated area with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser. Pat dry with a clean towel—avoid rubbing.

2. Apply Aftercare Ointment

Use the prescribed or recommended healing ointment (such as an antibiotic or soothing barrier cream) 1–2 times daily, or as directed by your provider.

3. Avoid Picking or Scratching

Do not pick, scratch, or peel the scab or healing area. This is crucial to prevent scarring or infection.

4. Sun Protection is Essential

Protect the area from direct sun exposure. Use a high-SPF (30+) broad-spectrum sunscreen and wear a hat when outdoors. UV exposure can darken healing skin and increase the risk of pigmentation.

5. Avoid Makeup (if on face)

Avoid applying makeup over the treated area until the skin has fully healed to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

6. Limit Intense Activity

Avoid excessive sweating, swimming, saunas, or hot showers for 48 hours post-procedure to prevent irritation and bacteria exposure.

7. Monitor Healing

Mild redness or a small scab is normal. If you notice increased swelling, warmth, pus, or prolonged discomfort, contact your provider

If a lesion is benign but bothers you because of its location, size or tendency to catch on clothing or jewellery, it may be suitable for removal.
